Office & Workplace: Windsor Works, London

New build office development within a conservation area on a very tight and irregular site. Steel frame and masonry construction used over contiguous piling and reinforced concrete basement, with lift feeding five floors of open plan offices. These utilise the maximum possible footprint within the site, resulting in a collection of well balanced and flowing office spaces within a series of irregular spatial volumes. The extensive use of both traditional and curtain walled glazing, as well as lightwells cut through the building, results in an expansive and bright feel to all spaces. The external form is dictated by massing constraints and rights of light. Material and detail are carefully considered, in the context of its Edwardian warehouse neighbours.
